As a Software Engineer – Mainframes, you will be part of the Rhelp Technical Experts Stable team and functionally report to the Digital Product Owner/Solution Architect driving IT deliveries for removing technical debts and modernizing the Rhelp solution.
Your future team
The Supply Chain Solutions Department is responsible for the IT deliveries related globally appointed solutions in the Central Warehouse solutions portfolio for Ghent, such as Rhelp and SPIS. The department comprises of three stable teams including roles like Software Engineers, Digital Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Solution Engineers, Solution Architects and Tech Leads.

Skills:
- Good understanding of IBM Mainframes with development experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2/IMS DB, IMS DC/CICS
- Having background in other Mainframe and non-Mainframe skills will be an added advantage
- Lead and coordinate requirement gathering, design, and implementation of new requirements, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders of the team
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
- Support our Digital Product Manager in prioritization and making decisions based on technology and architecture considerations
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate
- Conduct code reviews, identify technical debt, and drive initiatives to improve code quality at product and platform level
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance and support to our teams
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation and standards
Ideally, you have 6 to 10 years of experience on these skills with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent educational qualification.
Technical Skills (Good to have)
- Experience in working with different integration technologies.
- Worked on improving the security and reliability of the product & platform.
- Developing APIs
- Development & Usage of the CI/CD practices
- Designing and implementing cloud applications
