What you will do

Software Product Owner

The Product Owner is responsible for driving the development of MATLAB/Simulink-based software modules by managing the product backlog, aligning with stakeholder needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready components.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Ownership & Backlog Management

Define, refine, and prioritize the product backlog for MATLAB/Simulink modules.

Translate stakeholder and system requirements into clear user stories with measurable acceptance criteria.

Continuously groom and reprioritize the backlog to maximize technical and business value.

Ensure module functionality aligns with system architecture and integration needs.

2. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Collaborate with System Architects, Software Engineers, Validation Teams and Project Managers to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.

Lead and actively participate in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily scrums.

Communicate product vision, goals, and priorities clearly across all levels.

3. Technical Involvement

Understand and review model-based designs, simulation behavior, and code generation workflows in MATLAB/Simulink.

Partner with control algorithm developers and embedded software engineers to meet performance and integration standards.

Validate generated code against relevant standards such as AUTOSAR and ISO 26262.

Review model architecture, interfaces, and calibration parameters for consistency and traceability.

4. Quality and Delivery

Define and monitor KPIs for module maturity, simulation coverage, and software readiness.

Ensure adherence to functional safety, software quality, and documentation standards.

Support and oversee testing and validation across MIL/SIL/HIL environments.

This role requires a strong mix of technical understanding, stakeholder management, and Agile product leadership to translate system needs into reliable, efficient, and compliant model-based software solutons.

Who are you?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related field).

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in Software and Function Development using MATLAB/Simulink in Automotive domain.
  • 2+ years in a Product Owner, Product Management, or Technical Lead role within an Agile environment.
  • Embedded Software Development using C.

Certifications:

Certified Product Owner (e.g., CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent Agile Product Ownership certification).

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of Model-Based Design (MBD) principles.

Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded Coder.

Familiar with SDLC and Agile frameworks (Scrum/SAFe).

Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN) and requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion, DOORS).

Knowledge of automotive software standards such as AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and ASPICE.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to bridge technical detail with business priorities.

Proactive, ownership-driven, and collaborative mindset.
