GTT (Group Truck Technology), CAST Bangalore team is looking for an energetic and skilled aspirant to

work in the Platform Analysis and simulations as a Specialist Engineer. If you are looking for diversified experience by

This role comes under CAST (Common Architecture and Shared Technologies) Bangalore Department , under Vehicle Engineering, Group Trucks Technologies, which is responsible for ensuring Common Architecture and Shared Technologies requirements and roadmaps at GTT level are set up and governed.

 

In the platform analysis and simulation area, the department focusses on providing tools, models, methods and expertise to enable vehicle performance evaluation of any given vehicle specifications with high focus on durability, handling, comfort and motion analysis​​

 

The work needs collaborations with multiple other functions within GTT & Vehicle Engineering as needed to secure the deliveries in the responsible areas.

 

Your future responsibilities?

 

As a Specialist platform Simulation Engineer.

 

  • Build and work on Complete vehicle modular thermal models to evaluate different concepts across variants.
  • Develop  full vehicle 1D thermal models using tools like GT Suite and Global Simulation Platform (GSP) for Model based system engineering approach
  • Work with subsystem simulation engineers for inputs related to building the full vehicle models
  • Act as key person to enable the collaboration across sites towards harmonising the use of methods, tools and approaches pertaining to platform and system simulations
  • Lead and develop continuous improvement Methods/Tools aligned to Automation, lead time reduction and physical validation reduction in the concerned simulation areas
  • Work on Data driven simulation – optimize simulation needs using Data generated from vehicle usage and application
  • Work collaboratively for Digital transformations in the simulation areas
  • Work in a Global and Multi-cultural Agile environment with an opportunity to be part of complete vehicle development life cycle
  • Collaborate closely with testing teams, analyzing results to virtually verify full vehicle simulations to enhance the simulation confidence level.
  • Connect with COPs across simulation areas and support steering the simulation roadmaps
  • Connect across business areas to leverage the combined knowledge & competence in evaluating business challenges & proposing way forward
  • Support Steering committee members for governing the simulation digital transformation
  • Evaluate the needs and work with external partners to solve the specific product challenges through simulations

 

Who are you?

 

Technical Skills

 

  • Expertise in 1D simulation and thermal analysis
  • System simulation knowledge and competence
  • Tool knowledge: GT Suite and Matlab/Simulink

Qualifications: 

 

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with strong knowledge in Simulation & CAE areas
  • Around 12+ year experience from product development simulations, preferably in the automotive industry.
