As a Specialist System Engineer, you will be:

  • A vital part of Virtual Calibration on our journey towards data driven powertrain development
  • Partner with our global sites with remote Calibration support
  • Use relevant tools like MATLAB, Simulink, Python to build the models and to run simulations for Verification for various ECU diagnostics.
  • Contributing through simulations to find the Root Cause and providing sustainable long-term solutions for challenging field issues.
  • Most importantly, you will act as a SPOC for our various stakeholders in fulfilling their requirements from powertrain point of view.
  • You will also be responsible to create Engineering Reports at the conclusion of major initiatives, which forms an essential part of this role.
  • Also involved in Application Engineering tasks: Engine and Vehicle testing, Data generation, its analysis, Customer Adaptation and In vehicle Protocol tests.

Responsible for Homologation and Certification/CoP support: Support engine and vehicle testing of our various stakeholders at different test sites

Required knowledge

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile engineering with 12+ years of experience
  • Good knowledge of Engine Dyno Testing (screening, characterization, statistical analysis, performance and emission) and emission standards
  • Experienced in using ATI VISION/ ETAS INCA for calibration. Prior experience in Fuel Injection Equipment, Air path, driveability, torque model, emission and OBD calibration would be a bonus
  • Good understanding of using empirical modelling and optimization techniques using MATLAB MBC / ETAS ASCMO / AVL CAMEO Experience with CANalyzer/CANOE environment
  • Must have used MATLAB/Python/AVL Concerto or similar tools to work with data from the field trucks/test cells and should have the ability to interpret the data.
  • Capable of working with Instrumentation for loggers and sensors and possess working knowledge in communication protocols (CAN/LIN)
  • A willingness to learn and take more responsibility with can-do attitude.
  • Open to travel locally and globally extensively for assignments
