Purpose
The Supply Partner Development Engineer (SPDE) contributes to supply partner resiliency by evaluating the current situation at supply partners manufacturing sites with regards to capacity and performance, identifying gaps, developing roadmaps to close gaps and monitor implementation. In this way risks are minimised while performance is maximised. You will play a critical role in supporting our risk management and crisis response efforts. You will work closely with our risk management team to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks, and assist in developing strategies to manage crises effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and challenging field while contributing to the safety and resilience of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure supply partner readiness for serial production, monitoring the ramp and safe launch activities

Act upon risk signals associated with capacity or performance and escalate according to the Risk Governance structure (Early Risk Forum, ERF).

Review capacity during production phase (after start of production) periodically. If needed confirm capacity onsite at supply partner manufacturing sites.

Conduct risk assessments and analyze potential threats to the company.

Perform Supply chain mapping to better understand the constraints and regulation risks

Monitor and report on emerging risks and global trends that could impact the company.

Support the coordination of crisis response activities in the APAC region during incidents.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive risk management coverage.

Be a role model and promote Volvo Group Values and Code of conduct in the supply network.
Role requirements

Bachelors / Masters in Production / manufacturing / industrial / lean related fields

Knowledge and experience in different manufacturing philosophies like Lean manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

Ability to analyse and optimise manufacturing operations and supply networks.

Ability to train, coach and influence supply partners and internal stakeholders in capacity and performance related subjects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Previous experience or internships in risk management, crisis management, or a related area is a plus
-
Ability to travel to supply partners on a frequent basis.
