Service Operations & Technology (SO&T) is the organization within the Volvo Group that secures and develops the service operations and technical solutions our customers depend on, every day, across the globe, for all brands of the Group.

What you will do

At SO&T you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large. You will manage a portfolio of suppliers and spare parts references for multiple group brands. This includes supplier management, parts availability, backorder handling, and supplier escalation. We also drive the development of the supply planning process through continuous improvement. The work activities are carried out in close collaboration with Volvo Group brands, buyers, engineering, demand/inventory planning.  We offer you a position where you will get an excellent opportunity to build a broad international network both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • You will have overall responsibility for a portfolio of suppliers and supplier relations  
  • You ensure and develop supplier delivery performance
  • You provide customers and stakeholders with information on expected delivery date (ETA)
  • You actively work to avoid customer backorders
  • Secure spare parts availability for our customers by keeping optimal stock levels our European central warehouses.
  • Ensure inventory level is coherent with our stock holding policy
  • Optimise transport cost
  • With a mindset for continuous improvement, you actively participate in finding improvements in the material planning processes
  • Explore the network for optimizing deliveries and escalating suppliers in case of deviations

To succeed with us, you should be a team player, dedicated to developing both yourself and your colleagues. Additionally, we would like you to bring the following qualities: 

  • Minimum of 3-6 years experience in a related area
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g.: Supply Chain management, Operations management, Logistics & Supply Chain)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Customer-oriented attitude with a strong willingness to learn
  • Continuous improvement experience is a plus
  • Excel, Office 365, Power BI proficiency is a plus
  • Familiarity with MS Azure, Power Automate, Python (plus)
  • Data analytics ability
  • Teamwork and communication skills 

 

Travel: Occasional travel to our Hoskote plant and suppliers across India and Asia.

Location: Bangalore, India

 

You will be employed by Volvo Group India with attractive employee benefits.

Your working hours will be 11:00 am to 8:30 pm IST, maximizing connection possibilities with colleagues and supplier base distributed mainly over Europe.
