What you will do
At GTO PL - Transport Operations India, you'll be part of a team driving transformation in the transport industry and the company. You'll work in a global supply chain context, collaborating with colleagues across India, Europe, and other regions. Your key responsibilities include orchestrating transports (sea, air, surface freight), managing relationships with internal and external customers, and ensuring smooth transport operations.
You'll handle tasks like monitoring logistics, managing customs clearance, maintaining KPIs, overseeing transport documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You’ll also work on optimizing transport efficiency, supporting the TMS program, securing logistics data quality and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. The role also involves managing risk, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining communication with all parties involved in the logistics process. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for analyzing and selecting shipment modes based on cost and production needs and maintaining compliance with company guidelines.
Your future team
Production Logistics, part of Group Trucks Operations (GTO), is a global team of about 650 colleagues focused on delivering top-tier logistics solutions. Their responsibilities include overseeing transportation, packaging, material movement to production facilities, and the distribution of vehicles and construction equipment. They design and optimize the supply chain for Volvo Group, manage logistics for new products, and drive the Sales & Operations Planning process with a strong focus on customer success and innovation.
Transport Operations India (TO IN) is a key function within GTO PL- Logistics International. It handles both overseas and domestic transportation of materials to production facilities across Volvo Group India and its joint venture, as well as the distribution of vehicles, construction equipment, and Penta products to dealers and customers. Additionally, it manages product transit yards, cross-docks for material exports to our Overseas Plants, and ensures operational excellence through global networks and collaborations.

Competence & Experience:
- Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certifications: Degree in Engineering/ MCA/ MBA in Operations / Supply Chain is Preferred
- Requires 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, Foreign Trade, Risk Management
- Excellence in Office365, Power Query, Power Bl & Power Apps is preferred.
- High on Integrity and Strong Ethics
- Good communicator, Analytical, Proactive & Dynamic
- Ability to plan and achieve demanding targets and to motivate self and others to deliver outside their comfort zones
