The Compact Business Unit (CBU), set up in 2024 and responsible for the Compact Equipment Business for Volvo Construction Equipment, is looking for a Global Business Controller

 

This is a unique new position with financial responsibility covering the End-to-End business from product development to manufacturing to distribution and end customers.


Your main responsibilities:


•    Leverage existing and develop new CBU financial reporting to support and develop a financial transparency to CBU managers and reporting to HQ. 
•    Being proactive in developing early warnings about risks and highlighting opportunities for profitable business growth, challenging CBU managers where required to develop mitigation, growth or other actions.
•    Develop a network across Volvo CE to work with site and functional controllers to coordinate and build a good understanding of the CBU activities, analysis of financial drivers and reporting to support and improve decision making.
•    Support and challenge CBU managers, site and functional controllers in the planning and strategic processes. Develop models to support strategic initiatives and a rigorous follow-up.
•    Support CBU Business Managers who have a commercial market responsibility to develop a financial understanding of their market and drivers, and support them in developing a market business plan.
•    Drive consistency in financial reporting and management information, processes and related tools.
•    Active participation in cross-functional teams to build a solid financial basis where relevant.

Who are you?

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business control is essential to successfully perform this dual operational and strategic role.

We’re looking for someone who meets the following criteria:

•    Strong financial controlling and analytical skills. Good understanding of consolidated financials
•    Strong project management and organizational skills
•    Self-motivated and a self-starter
•    Exhibits a personal sense of urgency and follows up 
•    Comfortable supporting all functional areas of the business (e.g. sales, manufacturing, purchasing and technology)
•    Able to financially model business options and develop recommendations to support operational managers
•    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
•    Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment 
•    Interested in developing new tools to help bring different financial and other data together, supporting a better visualization, understanding and storytelling of financials and the business

•    Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with additional languages a plus.
