1.   Role description

 

The Head of Used Trucks is accountable for the performance, development and structuring of the Used Trucks business within Market Central East.

 

2.   Mission

The role focuses on:

 

  • Building and implementing mid-term development plans (4–5 years) for the Used Trucks activity
  • Strengthening and stabilizing the organization across countries
  • Ensuring consistent execution and performance over time
  • Supporting New Trucks sales through a reliable and efficient used trucks ecosystem
  • The position requires the ability to develop an activity step by step, reinforce business fundamentals, and deliver sustainable results in a multi-country environment.

 

3.   Principal Responsibilities

 

Business development and performance

  • Define, deploy mid-term development plans (4–5 years) for the Used Trucks strategy in line with Renault Trucks Market Central East framework
  • Ensure consistent delivery of KPIs (volume, profitability, stock, forecast accuracy)
  • Monitor performance and adjust actions to ensure continuity and reliability of results
  • Identify growth opportunities and optimize market positioning, including price elasticity management
  • Contribute to the Market business plan and translate it into actionable sales targets and activities

Commercial execution and network performance

  • Drive sales excellence by setting clear objectives, monitoring performance and ensuring follow-up of results
  • Animate and develop the Used Trucks network across the region (coaching, performance follow-up, capability development)
  • Ensure strong customer focus and build long-term customer relationships
  • Develop synergies with New Trucks and Service business functions

Operational excellence and processes

  • Ensure full compliance with Business Manual and standardized ways of working across the network
  • Optimize end-to-end business processes: buy-back, trade-in, purchase-to-sell, refurbishment and stock management
  • Secure efficient stock rotation while safeguarding profitability

Brand, offer and ecosystem development

  • Strengthen Renault Trucks Used Trucks brand image (UTByRT) and resale value across the region 
  • Develop and adapt the Used Trucks offer and footprint (UT locations)
  • Cooperate with key partners (RTFS, Volvo Group entities, dealers, external partners)

Leadership and team management

  • Lead direct and indirect teams through clear expectations, regular follow-up and accountability
  • Act as a role model in terms of compliance, integrity and leadership behaviors, in line with Volvo Group and Renault Trucks principles (UHP framework)
  • Support managers through coaching and regular performance dialogue
  • Ensure alignment with company policies, especially in terms of compliance and ethical standards

4.   Authorities

  • Approve price levels in line with pricing authorisation policies
  • Define and validate Fair Market Values (FMV)
  • Decide on buy-back, trade-in and purchase-to-sell conditions within delegation
  • Define pricing policies and delegation levels within the network 
  • Approve final transaction pricing 
  • Ensure application of all corporate processes and escalate deviations

 

5.   Profile

 

Experience

  • Proven experience in commercial/business management, ideally in automotive, transport or industrial B2B environment
  • Strong experience managing P&L and performance-driven activities
  • Experience in network management and multi-country environments
  • Solid exposure to Used Trucks / remarketing / asset management is a strong advantage

 

Leadership & behavioural competencies

  • Strong leadership with ability to manage both direct and indirect teams
  • Role model in line with Volvo Group Leadership principles and UHP standards (exemplarité, integrity, accountability)
  • High level of compliance awareness and ethical behavior
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong result orientation
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and cultures
  • Strong coaching and people development capabilities

 

Skills

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen (profitability, stock, DIO/DSO)
  • Commercial drive and negotiation skills
  • Ability to operate in complex and matrix organizations
  • Ability to deliver consistent performance over time in a fragmented and evolving environment
  • Ability to combine short-term execution with mid-term development

Languages

  • Fluent in English
  • Additional European languages are an advantage
