Senior Accountant

What you will do

Volvo Financial Services (VFS) Southeast is seeking a highly skilled and forward‑thinking Senior Accountant to support our financial operations in Romania. This key role plays an essential part in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement within a fast‑evolving regulatory and business environment.

As part of VFS, you will contribute to the ongoing transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large by ensuring financial integrity and enabling data‑driven decision‑making.

In this role, you will take ownership of critical accounting activities, drive process optimization, and collaborate with both local and regional stakeholders to secure compliance, enhance operational efficiency, and support sustainable business growth.

Your main key responsibilities will be:

• Record and process accounting documents in accordance with local accounting standards and internal policies
• Prepare and execute payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with approval procedures
• Perform month-end closing activities, including accruals, provisions and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly trial balance and ensure its accuracy and completeness
• Prepare statutory tax declarations (e.g. VAT, corporate tax, SAF-T)
• Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting regulations
• Reconcile statutory accounting records with group reporting figures and investigate any discrepancies
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
• Collaborate with internal departments and group finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data
• Continuously improve accounting processes and controls
