Director Logistics

Location:

Borås, SE, 405 08

Position Type:  Professional

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

What you will do
At Volvo Buses Plant in Borås you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. Based at the heart of our bus chassis production, you will be where daily priorities turn into real output, every day. You will lead the Logistics function and translate plant and business direction into operational plans that deliver safe, stable, and cost efficient material flow. You will own day-to-day performance across inbound logistics and internal material handling, ensuring the right parts are available at the right time to support production in Borås and CKD plants around the world.

You will also be accountable to define the journey ahead for logistics in our manufacturing context; utilizing AI, automation and other state of the art enablers for increased efficiency.
As a member of the Plant Management Team, you will contribute to overall plant performance, set shared priorities, and lead cross-functional actions that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. With budgeting and hiring accountability, you will develop capabilities, ways of working and leadership within your organization to deliver results through your teams.

Your future team
You will lead a Logistics organization with three direct-reporting managers and their teams, in total around 100 office and industrial workers. The team is close to daily operations, improvement-driven, and works cross-functionally to secure stable material flow for both local production and global CKD operations.

Who are you?
Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. In this role, you will bring:

Essential requirements
•    Proven leadership experience in logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain.
•    Strong operational and tactical execution skills: planning, prioritizing and delivering results through teams
•    Budget ownership and workforce planning experience, including hiring accountability
•    Lean and continuous improvement experience (e.g., structured problem-solving, standardization)
•    Solid understanding of material flow, inventory principles and logistics KPIs (safety, service, cost, stock accuracy) as well as the latest evolutions and best practices in the area of logistics and supply chain management.
•    Strong communication skills in Swedish and English

Nice to have
•    Experience supporting global manufacturing networks and/or CKD flows
•    Experience working in a unionized environment
•    Experience from automotive or heavy vehicle manufacturing
•    Experience in leading leaders

What’s in it for you?
In this role, you will step into an important leadership position at the Borås plant, where the impact of logistics is visible in the output every day. You will be part of a collaborative culture, working closely across functions around shared priorities, and you will have opportunities to grow as a leader in a global organization with cross-functional and international interfaces. The role is based in a hands-on plant environment, with fast feedback loops and a clear connection between decisions and results.
