Thesis Work- Simulation needs for Digital Twin
Braås, SE, 363 41
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
Description- Thesis work
For this thesis work you will join the deparment of VPD (Virtual product development) at site Braås, part of Volvo CE and home of the articulated hauler. VPD works with virtual product development in the areas of vehicle simulation, structural and vibration analysis, and data analytics. We have a great interest in mathematics, physics, and problem-solving.
The assigment is to quantify simulation needs for digital twin accuracy in road roughness and velocity scenarios.
Volvo Construction Equipment is developing a digital twin for haulers with the purpose of more accurately predicting chassis component lifespan based on real-word operating conditions. One key requisite is to have simulations of varying road roughness and velocity conditions. Given variations in the simulations, the assignment is to develop a methodology to determine the minimum number of simulations required for the digital twin to accurately predict component lifespan.
Suitable Background: Mathematics with experience in machine learning, MATLAB or python.
Thesis Level: Master
Language: Swedish or English
