Description Thesis work

For this thesis work you will join the team at Manufacturing Engineering- logistics at site Braås, part of Volvo Construction Equipment and the home of the articulated hauler. Manufacturing Engineering- logistics are managing the logistics flow, both in the mrp-system and on the shopfloor. This means how the material arrives, the parameters of different parts, different handling methods and finding ergonomical solution for logistc personal. We also have digitalization and software development experts för meeting future demands in this area.

Background to assignment: In production we have a lot of customized handling racks to transport different parts. These racks are used both inhouse and sent to suppliers for refilling. The flow from our site to external suppliers and back to Volvo is complicated, and in some cases there is reloading at distribution centres. We have problems with our racks getting lost in the logistic flows.
Assignment: We would like a technical solution for keep track of our racks.
