Volvo Trucks International (VTI) is responsible for sales and marketing activities in Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Asia/Pacific and China markets, covering truck sales in 128 countries.

 

Director Service Sales & Retail, Private Importers Africa

 

Service & Retail Director is responsible for driving, guiding and enabling the development and growth of Volvo Trucks Service business, spare parts sales and profitability across Market Africa by using the full range of service products & solutions.

 

Market Africa covers the following countries: all countries in Africa excluding South Africa & Morocco where Volvo Trucks have wholly owned Sales Companies.

 

This position will report to the Vice President Market Africa – Volvo Trucks International and is a member of the Volvo Trucks Market Africa management team.

 

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Plan and implement objectives for achieving spare parts sales and gross profit targets.
  • Frequent visit our markets and do jointly customer visits with our partners.
  • Develop and increase the competence level by measure it and put actions in place to improve it.
  • Actively driving full-service Total offer – parts, service sales and profitability including volume, mix and margin, adapting offer and sales arguments to each country’s environment.
  • Managing the spare parts sales plans of Market Africa in line with agreed targets and within Volvo Group guidelines (global policy, procedures & authorization directives).
  • Creating the annual sales forecasts by estimating total vehicle spare parts sales, gross and operating profits.
  • Collecting vehicle population data, creating parts and labor penetration and market share statistics
  • Translating VTI strategies to adjust key focus areas for markets’ requirements. Develop actions plans and tools to support a profitable, effective and efficient function.
  • Defining parts and service offers with parts & technical pricing studies and steer parts and service sales with each distributor’s spare parts responsible.
  • Manage and coordinate parts availability and improve parts logistics activities to reach Volvo Trucks strategy targets.
  • No personnel responsibility.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

In this position we are looking for someone who can work on own initiative with big engagement and with proven problem-solving skills. You can build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders with a highly flexible approach. Your communication and presentation skills are strong and the same goes for your technical skills and knowledge. We want an effective and supportive Team Player who is willing to accept, discuss and embrace feedback.

 

  • Excellent understanding of services/part sales/total offer of Volvo Trucks products
  • Good understanding of the commercial vehicle industry and business analysis
  • Fluent in both written and spoken French & English
  • Result oriented, self-motivating and lateral thinking
  • Customer and result orientated, ability to focus and prioritize tasks
