Volvo Trucks International (VTI) is responsible for sales and marketing activities in Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Asia/Pacific and China markets, covering truck sales in 128 countries.

 

Market Director, West Africa

Market Director West Africa is responsible for leading the execution of the business strategy and managing the performance of the Truck sales, retail network and importer Markets in West Africa countries within Volvo Trucks International.

West Africa Markets will cover the following countries: (Mali, Senegal, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, DRC, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisa, Libya, Guinea Conakry).

 

The position holder will be responsible for the management of the Volvo Trucks brand portfolio, including product offerings and providing high quality services to our customer base to deliver customer satisfaction, sustainable profitability and growth with full P&L responsibility.

You will ensure effective leadership, coordination and general direction to reflect and promote the company’s mission, vision, aspirations and values.

 

The position reports to the Vice President Volvo Trucks Market Africa and is a member of the Volvo Trucks Market Africa management team.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Translate Volvo Trucks Business Strategies to key focus areas in West Africa private importer markets.
  • Secure Implementation and coordination of decided strategies, actions and tools to support an effective and efficient trucks sales business.
  • Capture growth markets and deliver on company’s ambition of presence in Africa markets.
  • Develop distribution network to optimize and expand the brand portfolio strategy.
  • Fulfilment of financial (sales, GP, S&A, over-due and inventories) and operational (market share, retail performance, customer satisfaction) KPI’s in accordance with Volvo Trucks framework in order to monitor performance and provide reporting analysis upon request. Full P&L responsibility.
  • Actively develop and drive actions to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Attract, develop and retain talent, and secure/allocate necessary resources to carry out the activities at hand.
  • No personnel responsibility.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience of leading, mentoring and coaching teams to perform and deliver top quality services.
  • Extensive senior line management and P&L experience.
  • Good understanding of the retail business & environment within the area of commercial vehicles.
  • Demonstrating high and solid level of relevant Leadership competencies.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders with a highly flexible approach.
  • Ability to work successfully in a global organization and intercultural context.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken French & English.
  • As a person, you are a team player with drive, energy and engagement.
