Factory Overview

  • Volvo Circular Charlotte specializes in the remanufacturing of Volvo/Mack diesel engines, Volvo Construction Equipment transmissions, and other Volvo Group sub-components.

Purpose/Description

Under the direction of the Volvo Operations Concept:

  • Support the Volvo/Mack remanufacturing factory with new product introduction industrialization project management.
  • Act as a functional Industrialization Engineer for projects.
  • Able to motivate and manage a cross functional operations support team to lead products to industrialization.

All employees are responsible for the quality of their work and customer satisfaction and are expected to engage in active continuous improvement.  Knowledge and understanding of workplace 5S and problem solving is required to prevent and correct situations that could reduce quality and customer satisfaction. Training, understanding, and support of VPS (Volvo Performance System) is required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support the brands and Remanufacturing Engineers to develop, manage and grow the Volvo Group Reman assortment:
  • Provide continuous dialogue with product managers and remanufacturing engineers regarding products suitable for future remanufacturing.
  • Complete Development, Final development, and Industrialization, Trimming in, and Follow-up project phases.
  • Understand and communicate risks to industrialization projects.
  • Mitigate roadblocks and risks to projects
  • Customer driven approach to supply market with a broad portfolio of remanufacturing products at the lowest cost.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven Project Management experience.
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally, shown by dedication, pliability, and respect.
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organized with a high diligence to detail.
  • Ability to delegate activities with limited authority and escalate when needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to prioritize and shift priority based on Business needs.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or greater is required.
  • PMP is certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools/controls.
  • Required to sit, climb, balance, and crouch.
  • Required to lift to 50lbs.

 

Safety

  • Safety glasses required while grinding, steaming, using blow nozzles, or around others performing similar tasks.
  • Safety glasses in required areas.
  • Safety shoes always required.
  • Special attention to noise levels, hearing protection required in specific areas or operations.
  • Continuous elevated level of alertness.
  • Lock out tag out management and adherence.

 

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $83,500 - $103,100 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
