•    Production Planning and Procurement Manager


Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting production by creating stability on the line to create a smooth and constant flow.  To ensure our the IFS systems have updated information regarding part numbers, suppliers, carriers, etc. 
This includes activities such as 
•    Identifying and resolving parts issues impacting the schedule, recommending sequencing that maximizes on time delivery and line efficiency, monitoring assembly execution to the plan, communication of material release dates, and creating/revising production orders to align product configuration to customer change requests.
•    Scheduling units for the production line based on capacity constraints regarding material, manpower, machines, or methods.
•    Coordinating with Material Logistics to handle problems in receiving, distribution, and cycle counting.

 

Responsibilities: 
•    Support the Volvo Core values of safety, quality, and environmental care while exhibiting behaviour consistent with the Volvo Way.
•    Promote the use of the Volvo Production System (VPS) solutions to work toward continuous improvement.
•    Evaluate part availability in relation to shop order picking.  Communicate requirements to appropriate procurement or production planners as required.
•    Communicate sequencing of shop order delivery to Sub Assembly Staging. 
•    Release shop orders to align product configuration to customer capacity agreements.
•    Coordinate component change requirements between Manufacturing, Warehousing and Production planning.
•    Communicate problem parts together with engineering, material planners and suppliers.
•    Identify and resolve issues on the lines by applying problem solving techniques to permanently resolve the issues. 
•    Support implementation of standard process/es  and solution(s) at local site/organization
•    Address IFS end user questions and act as the point of escalation to the IFS global team
•    Be the point of contact for IFS users’ “how to” questions regarding material logistics and inventory
•    Assist Material Logistics with root causing receiving, distribution, and cycle count issues
•    Has the ability to explain facts, policies and practices related to the job

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
•    High School diploma 
•    0-2 years work experience within an Operations function
•    Thorough understanding of planning and inventory control  
•    Strong analytical skills  
•    Strong PC skills 
•    Strong problem solving skills
•    Strong conflict resolution skills
•    Ability to effectively communicate
