Production Quality Specialist - 2nd Shift

Purpose/Description

Under the direction of the Volvo Operations Concept:

  • Performs work according to SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
  • Performs material inspection
  • Drives reman specification back through feedback loops
  • Owner of Redbox concept
  • Performs material identification for Logistics

Knowledge and understanding of workplace 5S and problem solving is required to prevent and correct situations that could reduce quality and customer satisfaction. The employee must be capable to coach multiple areas of the business consistently.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support business with workorder inspection and quality control activities
  • Performs reactive and preventive activities to improve processes
  • Records, report, and act on solutions for increasing salvation or improving the quality and precision of the job
  • Provides direction and coaches disassembly, cleaning, and assembly on salvage usage
  • Works closely with Quality and Engineering on salvage method adherence and salvage decisions
  • Is a dedicated loss seeker
  • Be a liaison between engineering, quality, and production
  • Document and improve FTT of workorders through QCS
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Guarantee that work orders reach the warehouse with good IFS documentation of what is missing, what is present, what needs ordered

Education and Experience

  • 7+ Years of remanufacturing or job relevant experience

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Required to stand, walk, and use hands to manage tools/controls
  • Regularly required to reach with arms and hands
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Required to sit, climb, balance and crouch

Safety

  • Safety glasses required while grinding, steaming, using blow nozzles or around others performing similar tasks
  • Safety glasses in designated areas
  • Safety shoes are always required
  • Special attention to noise levels, hearing protection required in specific areas or operations
  • Able to practice an elevated level of alertness

For this position, the base pay is set at $21.24 - $28.73/hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
