What you will do

Key Customer Support Specialist-Marine Commercial & Power Centers positions offered by Volvo Penta of the Americas, LLC (Chesapeake, Virginia). Provide information regarding the application, advanced troubleshooting, and repair of Volvo Penta Marine Commercial engines and transmissions to OEMs, Power Centers, key marine dealers and internal Volvo Penta personnel. Develop and implement support processes for new product offerings and technologies such as electro-mobility and other alternative fuels, connectivity, and remote diagnostics. Act as a liaison between Marine Commercial OEMs, Power Centers, and key dealers and Product and Manufacturing Engineering, identifying quality issues and acquiring and providing data through specialized methods and analysis to resolve them through a quality case management process. Advise and assist Marine Commercial OEMs, Power Centers, key dealers and internal VPA personnel as to correct Volvo Penta Warranty policy and procedures and assisting with warranty claims requiring pre-authorization. Assist with the creation and implementation of Service and OEM bulletins and campaigns and promoting the use of Volvo Penta Partner Network (VPPN) and Argus case management. Provide specialized training to Marine Commercial OEMs, distributors, key dealers and internal Volvo Penta personnel, as well as new hires within the Technical Support and Field Service departments.

Who are you?

Requires an associate’s or foreign equivalent degree in Diesel Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing marine commercial diesel power products. Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following: Applying and performing Marine Commercial trade practices and activities Performing the role of a diesel engine original equipment manufacturer (OEM), diesel engine distributor, or diesel engine technical dealer. Position reports to Chesapeake, VA office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally 25% Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.

For this position, the base pay is set at $69,493 to $127,700 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
