Product Expert – Vehicle Dynamics
Join the team of product expert engineers at Prevost and make a difference for society by contributing to the collective effort towards a more environmentally friendly world. Invest your talent in product development to implement future coach transport solutions.
You will be part of a team of 4 product expert engineers, including a lead, within the product development team. You will be the product owner responsible for the vehicle dynamics. You will participate in 9800 chassis development projects by establishing specifications, guiding the design for the system you are responsible for, and acting as a technical lead to coach and guide design teams. The role of product expert is quite unique, allowing you to develop your technical knowledge and management skills. As Prevost is part of the large Volvo bus and truck group, you will have access to a vast pool of knowledge through contacts you establish with fellow engineers in the group.
Responsibilities:
- Technical owner of the parts and systems assigned to you.
- Translate project objectives into technical requirements (specifications).
- Define validation plans, conduct verifications and tests to validate your designs in relation to the requirements of the specifications.
- Actively communicate with internal or external suppliers to ensure optimal system integration.
- Guardian of changes made to propulsion components by internal or external suppliers.
- Guardian of system performance and reliability.
- Coaching CAD designers for various mechanical systems.
- Internal reference to validate the durability and adequate rigidity of various assemblies designed by project teams.
- Conduct technological watch, identify opportunities for improvement of existing products.
- Guide and support development and production teams.
- Evaluate risks associated with development and anticipate alternatives to meet expected project results.
- Participate in the technical analysis of failures observed in service and ensure the definition and implementation of relevant corrective actions.
- Generate the proof of compliance for regulatory requirements
- Make the part release approvals and DCN approvals for 9800DOT vehicle dynamics related systems (axles, brakes, suspension, steering, pneumatics, hydraulics)
You must have:
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or electromechanical engineering.
- Relevant experience in product development.
- Experience in FEA and CFD simulations.
- Knowledge of standard simulation tools (e.g., Matlab / Simulink).
- Aptitude and interest in writing technical documents: Specifications, Test Plans, Technical Reports, Proof of compliance
- Ability to communicate with international technical teams.
- Excellent skills of Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
