What you will do

As the Training & Technical Support Specialist, your role is to develop, deliver, and maintain technical expertise across the full helm-to-prop value chain, ensuring consistent and professional support for all Volvo Penta marine products and solutions. You will also trainin dealers, OEMs, fleet customers, importers, and internal teams, while providing advanced technical support to our Service Market colleagues when needed.

 

Your day to day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Design, deliver and evaluate technical training programs covering the full Helm-to-Prop system (engines, drives, EVC, controls and connectivity),
  • Conduct training for Dealers, OEM’s, key customers, and internal employees in classroom, virtual and practical workshop environments
  • Assess participants’ technical competence and provide structured feedback for improvement
  • Own the development and delivery of localized training programs by adapting global materials to meet local participant needs and business objectives
  • Manage training records, certifications, and participant’s development progress through the competence framework
  • Organise and manage the necessary infrastructure (equipment and materials) for training activities
  • Develop and manage training budgets and calendar.

Your future team

Reporting to our Marine Parts & Services Manager, you will work in a team of 4, but form part of the greater Volvo Penta business of roughly 23 employees. You will be based full-time at our brand-new Penta facility in Yatala.

Who are you?

We believe that your behavior's and characteristics are just as important as your technical skills, so ideally you will have:

  • A marine engineering or heavy automotive qualification
  • Proven working experience within the marine or heavy automotive industry in a commercial setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in any of the following fields: workshop training, instructional design, adult learning principles and facilitation
  • Experience in warranty systems and applications
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite, the ability to learn new systems and be up to do with digital technology
  • A passion for facilitation and delivery, as well as a customer service mindset.
