Job Summary and Purpose: This position will be responsible to assist the Service Department leadership in coordinating, developing, and managing assigned department personnel, assist with processes and procedures to ensure quality controls are achieved, departmental targets are met, and customer satisfaction is maintained. This position will Champion a “Safety First”, “Customer Focused” and a continuous improvement culture at VCES.

 

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities: 
•    Work safely at all times. Adhere to all VCES applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and values.
•    Make sure the service department maintains a high level of customer satisfaction through good communication and quality workmanship.
•    In conjunctions with the Service Manager, coordinate the work schedule of shop and or field personnel.
•    Has thorough knowledge of all equipment systems including hydraulic, air, electrical and lubrication.
•    Consistently follows through on all job facets including parts ordering and retrieval warranty claims, customer follow-up, etc.
•    Oversee and ensure repairs and performed in a correct and efficient manner.
•    Ensure safe working conditions and practices.
•    Oversee service and repair work performed both in the shop and in the field at the job site or customer’s facility.
•    Oversee training and safety, as needed.
•    As instructed, assess repair according to the skills and abilities of the technicians available.

•    Ensure shop equipment and tools are properly utilized and maintained.
•    Assist with repairs in ship and field when there is a back log of work or times of excess.
•    As needed, able to work on heavy construction equipment.
•    When needed, will operate a service truck in a safe and responsible manner.
•    Able to work overtime when needed to complete an assigned task and is flexible to any assignment.
•    Able to independently and accurately trouble shoot all systems in all product lines accurately and in timely manner.
•    Responsible for DOT compliance.
•    Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
•    Five to Six year of experience in service or related field
•    High School diploma or GED – Some college experience preferred.
•    Prior experience in the construction industry highly preferred.
•    Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations including OSHA and applicable safety regulations.

 

Additional Important Requirements:
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Focused problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
•    Some local travel required.
•    Able to climb ladders and stairs, access confined spaces, and crawl.
•    Requires prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing and frequent stooping, bending, crouching, and overhead reaching, with occasional climbing of stairs and steps or stepladder. 
•    Requires occasional lifting, pulling, caring, or pushing objects or materials, over 50lbs; and may frequently lifting, pulling, caring, or pushing objects or materials, up to 30lbs.
•    May occasionally work around loud, noisy, and dusty equipment and environment.
•    Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. 
•    Must be able to safely and properly handle, pneumatic and electric tools.

For this position, the base pay is set at $40.00 - $50.00/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
