What you will do

At Volvo Group Trucks Operations (GTO) you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society.

As Senior Manufacturing Analyst for the Paint Shop Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for the pre-treatment and electrodeposition processes for corrosion protection, supporting the business areas to reach the operational KPI objectives in terms of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and environmental. You will also be responsible for introducing new productive and non-productive chemicals into the painting process, participating in projects with a global network of professionals and managing cross-functional teams.

In this role, we’re looking for a senior professional to join our Manufacturing Engineering team at Volvo Group Trucks Operation (GTO) for the paint shop process, who has a solid experience on the automotive industry in the painting manufacturing environment, good social skills and driven by high performance and embracing challenges.

 

Your daily activities will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop solutions for continuous improvement and industrial performance
  • Define sequence of operations, balancing process times, creating procedures and work instructions for the operation 
  • Local representation for global process verification, working to guarantee that the process is compliant with Volvo’s Surface treatment standards.
  • Lead root cause investigations in Pre-treatment & Electrodeposition issues and support other processes with external laboratory analysis. 
  • Lead project feasibility studies, defining level of investment and expenses while also performing budget control
  • Collaborate with Project Office to introduce/substitute productive and non-productive chemicals in the Paint shop.
  • Collaborate with Surface treatment Product Owner and global chemical project team to define and industrialize chosen products
  • Create reports and conduct presentations to report activities/projects to the board of directors and management
  • Collaborate across global teams in Sweden, India, France, USA and Mexico participating in meetings representing the Curitiba Plant

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology
  • Solid experience in the automotive industry in process of metallic surface pre-treatment, electrodeposition and laboratory control
  • Knowledge of the other paint shop processes, such as sealant application, flaming, primer, topcoat/basecoat and clear coat application.
  • Experience in the introduction and management of industrial and product projects in automotive painting in global and cross-functional working groups
  • Fluent or advanced in English communication (written and verbal)
  • Excellent communication skills

Meriting Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or environmental areas
  • Strong experience in the automotive industry (preferably in trucks or cars production), working and being accountable effectively for the processes of metallic pre-treatment, electrodeposition and laboratory control
  • Strong experience in project leadership in the automotive industry
  • MBA or postgraduate degree in Project Management or Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and WCM methodology and tools 
  • Experience with MS Office, Autocad, Catia and process flow simulation software’s
