Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) is the global group function covering the purchase of automotive products and parts including aftermarket, for Volvo Group Truck brands. We are looking for a Project Buyer, in Curitiba, Brazil, that will lead purchasing activities related to North America region.
We are a group of highly dedicated and skilled professionals, we contribute to segment strategies and we are active members of the global network of commodity buyers responsible for selecting the right suppliers, and continuously secure the best supplier QDCFTSR performance (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management).
You will be based in Curitiba and report to the Head of North America/South America Collaboration Purchasing, with a dotted line to the Head of Sealing & Fluid Management of North America.
This is your mission:
The Project Buyer will serve as the purchasing interface towards projects and suppliers within the Anti Vibration, Injection Molding and Extrusion parts during the entire project phase.
It will be critical to work with your North American Engineering and global Purchasing counterparts to drive current supplier performance to the defined targets, at the same time continuing to challenge our assumptions in these areas by researching market trends and engaging potential new suppliers in feasibility discussions.

What we are looking for:
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Project management: Ability to manage development of parts with suppliers from sourcing to industrialization
- Experience in purchasing and negotiation within supplier relationships
- Experience within the manufacturing industry
- Proven negotiation, analytical and communication skills
- Strong business acumen, agile in way of working
- Positive attitude, service minded and target oriented approach
- Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
- Strong team player with the ability to lead
- Ability to be open minded, to encourage collaboration and to add value with a continuous improvement mindset.
- University degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent working experience
- Multicultural experience
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
