What you will do

At Vehicle Engineering you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large by integrating and developing technologies into a complete truck for all brands within the Volvo Group.

 

As Mechanical Engineer you will be in charge to develop technical solutions for local and global projects, solve quality problems and be accountable over our products in Latin America. 

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Be responsible and lead installation of pneumatic and electrical components on the chassis: valves, brackets, pneumatics tubes, harness routing and respective layouts;. It means:

  • Design development fulfilling requirements and business targets
  • Resolve quality issues
  • Elaborate and release technical documentation: 3D models, drawings, regulations and descriptions and product structure
  • Work with risk analysis, root cause analysis and FMEAs
  • Elaborate components validation and time plans
  • Secure cross functional agreement within other technology areas, purchasing, manufacturing, after market, etc

 

 

Your future team

CEIP&T (Chassis Electrical Installation, Pneumatics & Tanks) is a group within the Chassis Department responsible for development and installation of pneumatics, electrical, urea, fuel lines and tanks. This Team is also part of a global network and works in close cooperation with other sites such as Sweden, India, France and USA. You will work together with skilled and collaborative colleagues all over the globe.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g. Mechatronics)
  • Previous experience Product development - design of sheet metal and routing
  • Some experience with Problem Solving (internal and external customers)
  • Some experience with Pneumatics and/or Castings is a bonus


Competencies / Skills:

  • CAD Design Proficiency, preference PTC/CREO
  • Some knowledge of Quality Tools (DFA, FEA, FMEA, 8D)
  • Advanced English – keep up conversation in frequent global meetings, write emails and read technical info
