What you will do
At Volvo, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.
Your main missions and responsibilities will be:
- Provide models and calculation results with guaranteed quality and propose where/when to perform specific simulations and analyzes (FEA/CFD);
- Draw conclusions and make recommendations using control systems and simulation and function analysis;
- Perform analysis and provide validated results against project objectives;
- Support the continuous improvement of methods and tools;
- Plan, lead and carry out highly complex simulations/analysis;
- Take responsibility for the fidelity of simulations/analysis;
- Support project engineers and designers at all stages of projects for technical solutions at varying levels of complexity;
- Train and mentor less experienced simulation and analysis engineers;
- Perform evaluation and estimation of project content to meet schedule and delivery.
- Carry out development of methods and tools.
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for improvements in durability analyses.

- Proven knowledge and experience with FEA/CFD analysis for technical solutions.
- Fluent in English is essential.
- Ability to work independently (being responsible for delivering on time and with the expected quality), in addition to having the ability to work in a group, managing different challenges and expectations of interested parties is essential.
- Analytical problem-solving skills are essential.
- Perform FEA (Durability) simulations to analyze and optimize the performance of commercial vehicles.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate durability improvements into vehicle designs.
- Efficient in StarCCM or Powerflow software
- Proficiency with pre-processing tools (e.g. HyperMesh, ANSA, PowerDelta) for mesh generation and model preparation.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems for simulation setup and data processing is an advantage
- Experience with CAD software (e.g. CREO, CATIA, SolidWorks) is an advantage
