What you will do

We are looking for a Group Manager with passion to lead both technology and people. To develop technology for sustainable and pioneering electronic and software products and services for future transport solutions. At the same time develop our people, making this area a great place for people to grow.

 

As Engineering Group Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers working on Product Lead and Product Integration (Vehicle Software Factory) at Vehicle Technology Curitiba. This is a department responsible for:

  • Product Integration:
    Hardware in the loop (HIL-rigs) - The team develops and maintains rigs for the complete system. The test system is an in-house developed framework. Using the same framework we also provide HIL-rigs for component and subsystem testing. The HIL’s have fault injection and test automation possibilities.

 

  • Product Lead:
    Lead system integration plan and align with the vehicle product roadmaps. Drive and align software development team deliveries to ensure timely functionality. Drive and execute the test needs to secure the product quality along with the Product Test team. Collaborate with engineers to improve products and work methods. Consolidate, judge, present and recommend product status to Release board and reference groups.

 

  • Release Management:
    Manage software product configurations for diverse product lines. Lead creation and maintaining software system baselines for assigned product classes, according to agreed time plan with quality and legal fulfilment. Drive actions towards release decision and documentation in the shape of release notes,
    verification results, sub-stream validation and justification to Release Board.

 

  • Product Metrics:
    Metrics Team to implement robust back-end technologies, infrastructure, and data management practices. Your mission is to develop scalable, efficient applications that enhance our software development processes. The Metrics products are focusing on the build and test data and to gather these to achieve a data driven release boardKey.

In this position, you will functionally report to the Director of Vehicle Technology Curitiba and operationally to Global Technology Managers in VT stream Vehicle Software Factory. 

There will also be close collaboration to Greensboro and Lyon sites. In your line role you will work together with the Global team of group managers within Product Integration and Product Lead, Release and Metrics as one team with common backlogs, processes and priorities.

Relevant Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master´s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Control and Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent;
  • Experience in embedded software verification, preferably from the automotive industry;
  • SW knowledge – Knowing the basic principles and processes for how SW is developed, integrated, verified and deployed;
  • To manage this, you love cross functional work, and you will easily build the network with stakeholders;
  • Project management – Good skills in leadership, planning, communication and stakeholder management;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

 

Meritorious to have:

  • Solid experience as team leader;
  • Experience with HIL testing and vehicle testing;
  • International and multi-cultural experience with a global organization;
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, power BI and requirement tools;
  • Good knowledge of software programming languages like C, C++, C# and Python;
  • Truck knowledge – Understanding how different systems in a truck interacts and work together.
  • Knowledge of LIN, CAN, and Ethernet communication.
  • Experience with Vector toolchain and especially CANalyzer and CANoe.
