Trucks & Technology Industrial (TTI) is the global group function covering the purchase, engineering and manufacturing of automotive products and parts, including aftermarket, for Volvo Group Truck brands. We are looking for a Senior Buyer, based in Curitiba, Brazil, to lead purchasing activities related to the North America region while contributing to FSDV South America priorities, supplier strategy, and cross-regional business performance.
We are a group of highly dedicated and skilled professionals, we contribute to segment strategies and we are active members of the global network of commodity buyers responsible for selecting the right suppliers, and continuously secure the best supplier QDCF performance targets (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature).
You will be based in Curitiba and report to the Head of Function & Software Vehicle Defined South America Purchasing.
This is your mission
You will lead purchasing activities within your scope, working with internal and external stakeholders to maximize customer satisfaction and business value. You will be accountable for supplier QDCF performance across your segments, driving negotiations, cost optimization, ordering, logistics coordination, and financial flows with a clear focus on execution, competitiveness, and sustainable results.
You will ensure the segment strategy is continuously updated and effectively implemented by selecting the right suppliers, challenging supplier QDCF performance, and using Volvo Group purchasing tools and cross-functional networks across project, production, and aftermarket phases for revenue segments.
What We Are Looking For
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Solid experience in purchasing, supplier relationship management, and complex negotiations
- Experience within the manufacturing industry, with proven knowledge of electrical components such as power distribution, connectors, and specialty cables considered a strong advantage
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, lead fact-based negotiations, and secure business decisions
- Strong business acumen, cost optimization mindset, and agility in way of working
- Positive attitude, service minded and target oriented approach
- Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
- Strong team player with the ability to lead, take ownership, and operate with autonomy
- Ability to be open minded, to encourage collaboration and to add value with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Motivated by change management and ability to drive change
- University degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent working experience
- Multicultural experience
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
