Service Operations & Technology (SO&T) is the organization within the Volvo Group that secures and develops the service operations and technical solutions our customers depend on, every day, across the globe, for all brands of the Group. What you will do:

This role will be responsible for building modern web applications, supporting existing solutions, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver scalable and user-friendly software. The ideal candidate enjoys working across the full application stack, from database design and backend APIs to intuitive user interfaces.

 

Main activities and responsibilities for these roles

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain internally developed business applications using modern Microsoft technologies.
  • Design and develop responsive front-end applications using technologies such as React, Power Apps, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using .NET and ASP.NET Core.
  • Design, develop, and optimize Azure SQL databases, stored procedures, views, and data models.
  • Build integrations with internal enterprise systems and third-party APIs.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Ensure applications follow security, performance, and coding best practices.
  • Manage source control, work items, releases, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate closely with business users, project managers, analysts, and other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to development standards and reusable components.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and best practices to improve development efficiency and application quality.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience developing full-stack web applications.
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core Web API.
  • Experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience designing and optimizing relational databases.
  • Experience working with Azure SQL Database.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for source control, work item management, and CI/CD.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple development initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services (App Services, Functions, API Management, Key Vault, Storage, Entra ID, etc.).
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Experience designing scalable business applications.
  • Experience working with authentication using Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with Entity Framework Core.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT to improve development productivity.
  • Experience with DevOps automation and release management.

 

Necessary functional/language skills

  • As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required.
