You are an experienced engineering professional with deep technical knowledge of steering systems and a strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and system integration. You are motivated by complex technical challenges and interested in developing safe, efficient, and sustainable transport solutions for global commercial vehicle platforms.

You combine specialist expertise with a broad, system-level perspective. You can lead complex engineering activities, connect technical decisions to customer and business value, and influence stakeholders across functions and locations. You are comfortable taking technical ownership, setting direction, and making fact-based decisions while considering safety, quality, performance, cost, and product lifecycle requirements.

What you will do

You will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will: 

  • Lead the development and application of steering systems for regional and global commercial vehicle platforms
  • Define system requirements, technical solutions, and verification & validation strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive technical problem solving, root cause investigations, DFMEA activities, and product quality improvements.
  • Lead supplier development and technical alignment activities to ensure robust and competitive solutions.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams across multiple functions and locations.
  • Contribute to steering technology roadmaps and future product strategies.
  • Coach and support colleagues by actively sharing knowledge and promoting engineering excellence.

 

Your Future Team

You will join the Vehicle Motion and Vehicle Dynamics group within Function and Software Defined Vehicles. We are a collaborative engineering team responsible for developing systems and components for local truck applications and global vehicle platforms.

You will have the opportunity to lead challenging engineering activities, influence future technology direction, develop your specialist competence, and support the growth of others through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Relevant Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in the development of steering systems within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, steering technologies, and system integration.
  • Proven experience leading complex technical activities involving cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with electrohydraulic steering systems, ADAS, or driver assistance technologies
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and safety-critical system development.
  • Experience with verification & validation methodologies and vehicle testing.
  • Familiarity with CAN communication and vehicle measurement or diagnostic tools.
