What you will do

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The purpose of this job is to act as a coordinator between Volvo Trucks North America, NRV Plant, and our suppliers/vendors to expedite the delivery of storeroom material in a timely and organized manner, as well as maintain the integrity of the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

•             Works within the CMMS; checking open or past due purchase orders.

•             Coordinate with vendors and expedite all storeroom parts in, as needed.

•             Review material shortages daily using reports generated from the CMMS.

•             Audits receipts daily to prevent over/early shipments from vendors and make appropriate disposition when necessary.

•             Provide information daily to the Storeroom Supervisor on all parts when inventory or other problems exist.

•             Audits inventory and cycle count reports and suggest changes, as needed.

•             Communicates with Volvo Transport to determine possible disposition through substitution, rework or return to vendor, etc.

•             Provides information daily to the Storeroom Supervisor concerning any and all part and or inventory problems.

•             Authorize Premium Transportation for material when needed.

Who are you?

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

•             Ability to convey information through oral and written communication.

•             Proficient in computer literacy such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

•             Analytical and conceptual thinking skills including utilizing a well-ordered approach to solving problems.

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The minimum education and experience requirements can be met through any one of the pathways described in the charts below.  Please note:  In order to meet the minimum requirements, each item listed within the pathway chart must be met.    In the event there are no bidders, and we must recruit externally experience with similar outside systems may be substituted.

Additional Responsibilities

•             Manage multiple PO’s daily for MSC VMI (vendor managed inventory) and MSC Periodic Invoicing (maintenance related material in MSC vending machines) This includes PO generation, receipting invoices, and resolving any blocked invoices that should arise.

•             Manage the repair process for handheld tools and equipment, such as but not limited to hoists, motors, and pumps etc. that can be repaired. This involves PO generation, acquiring RMA if required by supplier, RFS generation, supplying answers for customs requirements if needed. Seeing that the material gets to the shipping dock.  Processing the quote when the vendor comes back with the repair cost.  And following up on aging orders as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

•             Work with Volvo IPS buyers to resolve any outstanding issues or questions a supplier may have. Resolving account problems, delivery problems and any account updates as needed.

•             Work with Volvo Logistics to answer any questions suppliers may have about shipments for Volvo, for components handled by the Storeroom. This includes generation of premium transport authorization forms if needed.

•             Work with the Volvo Environmental Group on any new chemicals added into the I-Maint database.

•             Work with storeroom management, finance dept. and maintenance supervisors to answer any questions about orders, follow up and resolution.

•             Work with supplier account managers as needed to manage blanket PO’s, vendor managed inventory, quoting new material and account resolutions as needed.

•             Performs other duties as determined by Management.
