What you will do

Renault Truck Commercials has a fantastic opportunity for an Automotive or Engineering qualified and experienced Commercial Vehicle Technical  Uptime Solutions Manager.

This role can be based from one of our depots, mainly, Dunstable, Essex, Reading or Tipton.

Paying to £60,000 basic, a 20% KPI driven bonus scheme, company car, a 7% matched pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus BH's rising with service plus many other perks from working with a global name. 

Overview of the role:

To support the Dealer Regional Management in the continuous improvement and development of technical engineering competence and service support to meet the operating standards of Renault Trucks and to represent both RTC and the Dealers to resolve Service/Aftersales technical or commercial issues requiring liaison with the local dealer, manufacturer and direct customer contact as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Engineering / automotive qualification to HNC level.
  • To have hands on workshop skills
  • In depth knowledge of Truck and Van automotive products
  • 10 Years experience within the commercial vehicle industry.
  • 5 Years’ experience within Truck and Van automative industry in a technical problem-solving environment.
  • To have proven problem-solving skills using a methodical and cost-effective approach
  • To understand coaching psychology and techniques to implement these in a live Workshop environment

The role:

  • To actively manage group VOR and keep general directors updated regularly
  • Attend sites at short notice to proactively deal with vehicle issues in conjunction with dealer managers
  • Investigate Customer concerns and complaints relative to the technical function or performance of the product (including how the issue/activity was managed and handled by the Dealer Workshop) and agree an action plan to resolve. Also, to follow up the origin and cause of such complaints and assist in the identification and implementation of corrective action to prevent similar cases arising in the future.
  • To liaise with and support the senior managers with analysis, diagnosis or field investigation of product technical issues, or any related customer issues that have escalated to complaint status and agree actions.
  • To provide the workshop teams with technical support to reduce Argus cases and vehicle down time 
  • To work with the Dealer’s Technicians, providing both physical (where necessary) and specialist Technical Engineering help support and guidance in developing and agreeing action plans that achieve the most effective solutions in both cost and time that satisfy both Customer and dealer
  • To evaluate and monitor Service quality standards and key performance indicators and progress areas of deficiency with appropriate management including action plans and time scales for resolution.
  • To communicate and progress agreed RTUK policy with regards to Dealer Operating Standards within RTC.
  • To prepare, organise and carry out special engineering projects as required by RTC.
  • To take an active role in Dealer customer events.
