This position is on site in Elkridge, MD from May - August.

What’s in it for you?

The internship/co-op role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the student's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group Trucks by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns/coops and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Group Trucks.

What you will do

The Intern/Co-op will be tasked with:
- Developing and maintaining VPS communication tools, and standardization across Baltimore RDC. 
- Assist with designing and developing pamphlets of the Lean tools (5S, 7 Wastes, Safety pyramid, etc.) as describe procedures using Dozuki – Governance of PSM, Ideas, SOP, etc. 
- Develop training portfolio for IWs: VPS tools (5S, 7 wastes, PSM, Safety, etc.) will be a key activity for this internship. 
- Assist with research and data collection. 
- Research Industry 4.0 cases in the Baltimore warehouse with the objective to develop and improve our processes.

Who are you?

Minimum Education/Skills Required:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Business or Logistics Engineering or Industrial Engineering, with a focus on Supply-chain or logistics Management at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the co-op.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
- Applicants should be interested in pursuing a professional career in Logistics/Logistics Engineering, supply chain or Business Management with an interest in Lean
- Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, Word, Power BI, SharePoint, PowerApps and PowerPoint)
- Applicants should have knowledge of SQL and IOS programming languages

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
