What you will do
As Head of Global Inbound Supply, you lead a global team and network responsible for material planning and material handling across Volvo CE. You define and drive the inbound supply operating model, setting standards and a transformation roadmap that enable a high performing, resilient and sustainable end to end supply chain. Together with stakeholders in Operations, Purchasing, Supplier Development and Volvo Group Logistics, you leverage future oriented logistics, automation and digital solutions to secure robust and efficient material flows to our factories.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Network Governance
• Orchestrate Material Networks: Lead and align global networks linked to material planning and handling, establishing mission-based teams to drive Volvo CE’s material flow transformation.
• Target Operating Model (TOM): Define the strategic TOM and competency standards for inbound supply, accelerating the deployment of digital and automated solutions for multi-site application.
• Global Collaboration: Act as the primary Operations representative in new supply designs, collaborating with Purchasing, Suppliers, and Supplier Development Engineers on commodity strategy and sourcing decisions.
Digital Automation & Industrial Transformation
• Logistics 4.0: Coordinate global initiatives toward advanced digitalization (SAP ODC, OIC, EDI) and shop-floor automation, ensuring seamless integration from the office to the factory floor.
• CO2 & Cost Optimization: Promote and lead global initiatives for transport cost reduction and carbon footprint minimization, contributing actively to Volvo Group Logistics networks.
• Operational Excellence: Support sites in major improvement projects, including warehouse/dock layout redesign, control-tower solutions, and "Red Team" facilitation for complex problem-solving.
Crisis Management & Resilience
• Disruption Leadership: Coordinate responses to major supply disruptions impacting customer deliveries, providing leadership for Global Material Control team members across various sites.
• Benchmarking: Promote cross-site and external benchmarking to ensure Volvo CE remains at the forefront of industrial logistics best practices.
Who are you?
In this role, you are a senior, transformational leader who brings high energy and constructively challenges the status quo. You are a systems thinker who moves naturally between a strategic, end to end view of the supply chain and the realities of the shop floor. You are fact based and pragmatic, with a strong “Go to Gemba” mindset and a passion for turning insights into solutions.
As an inclusive collaborator, you build trust in a matrixed, global organization and enjoy leading international teams and networks. You are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, making clear decisions in complex environments and developing diverse, high performing teams that continuously improve how we work.
Experience & Qualifications
• Solid experience within Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Operations, with strong exposure to inbound material management in complex manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record of leading international, multi site teams or networks in a global, matrix organization.
• Demonstrated experience of logistics transformation, including digitalization, automation or AI driven planning solutions.
• Strong background in data driven performance management and industrial engineering principles (for example VPS/Lean or similar).
• Fluent in English; Swedish or other languages are an advantage.
