We are looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager who will help driving innovation beyond our core markets and creating customer-focused solutions that deliver real value and profitability.

 

Role Purpose

We’re on a mission to unlock new growth opportunities for Volvo Autonomous Solutions. In this role, you’ll lead the charge in identifying and developing business opportunities in adjacent and emerging segments—beyond our established Mining & Quarry and Highway Trucking markets. Your focus will be on creating real customer value while prioritizing ideas that deliver strong profit potential and leverage our existing products and planned R&D investments.

 

You’ll operate with agility and an entrepreneurial mindset—moving fast, going to market with what we have, and backing it all with credible business plans and proven customer traction.

 

What you’ll Do:

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping new business opportunities for Volvo Autonomous Solutions. Your mission is to spot and pursue opportunities that align with market needs and deliver real customer value—using the products we already have and building on our strengths. You’ll work hand-in-hand with product and technology teams to create solutions that meet customer requirements and operational realities, turning ideas into tangible outcomes.

 

You’ll craft commercial offers that resonate with customers and design business models that strike the perfect balance between customer value and VAS ROI. Your ability to quantify opportunities and develop credible business plans—supported by pilots, letters of intent, and paid trials—will be key to unlocking further investment and accelerating growth.

 

Collaboration will be central to your success. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, finance, legal, marketing, and sales to ensure governance is customer-focused and execution-ready. Every step you take will help us move faster, smarter, and closer to delivering autonomous solutions that transform the industry.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven B2B sales and marketing experience, ideally with leadership in solution sales and complex deal orchestration.
  • Expertise in business development and business modeling, with an understanding of business models at various stages of the products technology maturity.
  • Knowledge of autonomous technology and related ecosystems; strong stakeholder and customer relationship management skills.
  • Experience in the international transport industry and global operations.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a commercial or technical field; fluency in English.
