We are looking for a Buyer in Uptime & Adaptation (U&A) team to purchase Bodies & Transformation products and services for our trucks. Going the extra mile is not just words, we walk the talk! 

What is our offer to you?

You will be a Bodies & Transformation Buyer within Customer Adaptation. The Bodies & Transformation segments represent everything Volvo is putting on top of our rigid chassis, such as tippers, boxes, cranes, hook-lifts and mixers. They are a key success factor for our customers and sometimes even more expensive than the actual truck they are mounted on. You will have a true role in making sure that our customers get a complete vehicle that meets their tough standards, contributing to their satisfaction and success.  

We are also handling trucks transformations for special applications, in this area, every new project is unique and innovative.

You will have colleagues and stakeholders working spread across the world, and you will be part of different networks, teams, and groups, both locally and globally. You will be part of the Adaptation – Bodies & Transformation team within the Uptime & Adaptation (U&A) department, with colleagues both in Gothenburg (Sweden) and Lyon (France).  

 

Uptime & Adaptation is a global organization within Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) who support Service Parts Purchasing and Vehicle Adaptation Purchasing. We operate in small teams with a large degree of freedom, “the small machine in the big machine”. Team spirit is a key enabler for us, we support each other, and everyone is contributing to build the Uptime & Adaption future.

What you will do

As a Buyer, we want to benefit from your Purchasing experience to support our Group and Brands' transformation from the Purchasing side. Our purpose is to always bring more value to our customers without compromising quality or lead time. 

You will be leading the purchasing activities within your portfolio to maximize our truck brands offers. Focus is high on cross-functional collaboration, and you will make sure that ways of working are efficient and bring suggestions!

We also value if you have: 

  • Master's degree in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field 
  • Some years of previous buyer experience, automotive is a plus 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Excellent networking skills and ability to drive stakeholders at different levels 
  • Ability to secure business requirements and contracts 
  • Good analytical skills  
  • Curiosity for new technologies and business trends 
  • High degree of autonomy and ability to be pragmatic 
  • Ability to challenge, convince and make decisions 
  • Ability to deliver on time with team spirit skills
