Financial Control & Accounting (FCA) is part of Group Finance with the responsibility to ensure that the financial performance is correctly reflected for Business Areas, Truck Divisions, Group Functions and legal entities. FCA also provides local tax administration and compliance, as well as global shared services through our Accounting Services delivery centers, with high-quality and process-efficient service deliveries. We are approximately 1 400 employees with a global footprint in 50+ countries, working closely integrated with local business operations. We continuously strive to develop and automate our processes and to further strengthen our role as a key business partner. FCA drives quality and efficiency through lean optimization, digitalization and offshoring.
What you will do
As Chief Accountant, you will ensure accurate, efficient and compliant financial reporting. You will lead and develop the financial reporting activities for the legal entity AB Volvo Penta. This role is central within the finance organization and involves close collaboration with the Finance Manager, Controllers, Shared Service Centers, external auditors and Business Control functions. You will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, driving improvements and contributing to the overall financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure general ledger accounting and daily financial operations
- Secure the quality and delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and reporting standards, including RFR2 and IFRS
- Ensure completion of all statutory and compliance reporting
- Act as the main point of contact for auditors
- Guide and develop the accounting team (locally and/or within SSC structures)
- Drive improvements in accounting and financial reporting processes
Your future team
You will be joining the FCA Group & Sweden team for Volvo Penta in Gothenburg, reporting to the Director FCA Volvo Penta. You will collaborate with a broad network of colleagues within FCA, Volvo Penta and the rest of the Volvo Group. You will work closely with local Financial Controllers and Accounting Services support teams located in Poland and India. In addition, you will have close cooperation with Headquarter functions and Business Control functions within Volvo Penta.

Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in qualified accounting within a larger company or group environment
- University degree in finance, accounting or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of RFR2 and IFRS
- Solid experience from statutory and compliance reporting
- Strong drive to develop accounting and financial processes in a global setting
- Strong ability to communicate, engage and drive towards a target vision
- Proactive and service-minded, with high integrity
- Enjoys functional leadership and working in teams
- Experience from shared service center setups or outsourced flows
- Full professional proficiency in written and spoken Swedish and English
- Skills in SAP S/4HANA are considered a merit
