What you will do

At Volvo Trucks, you will be at the forefront of data-driven innovation, helping us unlock the full potential of digital and connected-vehicle solutions. You will empower our business areas to use data responsibly, guiding them on privacy-by-design, cybersecurity, and compliant data flows. Working closely with colleagues across Volvo Trucks and the wider Volvo Group, you will ensure our strategies and solutions meet both business ambitions and legal requirements. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that drive our business forward, and you’ll be the go-to expert for drafting, negotiating, and optimizing data-centric agreements and projects—covering everything from data sharing to AI and connected services. 

You will join a team supporting a broad range of legal and compliance topics, so your ability to contribute is not limited to just data topics (although that will be your core expertise) – you can build this role into your ideal mix of subjects and projects.

This role is based in Gothenburg, with occasional travel to connect with our global teams.

Your future team
You will join a diverse and highly skilled legal and compliance team, working alongside experts in data, digitalization, and technology law. You will also be embedded in business teams and projects as a key enabler of our Volvo Trucks strategy. Our team values open dialogue, continuous learning, and a collaborative spirit. Together, we support each other as we navigate the fast-evolving world of data and digital innovation.

Who are you?

In this role, you will bring, as essential requirements:

• Legal qualifications and at least 7 years’ experience as a lawyer.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex data, privacy, and regulatory issues into practical, business-focused solutions.
• Proven collaboration skills in a complex, cross-functional environment.
• Strong business mindset and understanding of how your role contributes to overall performance.
• Experience communicating legal concepts clearly and confidently, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Agility and curiosity in navigating emerging technologies, evolving regulations, and ambiguity.
• Sound, timely decision-making that balances regulatory demands with commercial impact.
