‘Data’ is a function within Volvo Digital & IT with the goal of unlocking the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With Data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and used through BI, Analytics, and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with the implementation of the Data Layer in Azure and the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.

 

The ‘Data’ function is a large multi-cultural organization with 600+ employees and contractors located mainly in 7 countries - Sweden, Poland, India, Belgium, Brazil, USA, and France. 
 

What you will do

As a Data Manager for the Data Marketplace in our team, you will manage the Data Marketplace concept and requirements incl. guidelines & frameworks for Data Product  development and Data Product definition. You will work with the Data Management Tool, Informatica IDMC, and secure enhancement and implementations of new capabilities.

 

This requires knowledge and experience in  Data Governance and Data Management, skills & experience in delivering Data Products, and a good understanding of cloud data platforms on Azure. 

 

Your Responsibilities include

 

  • Advise and support stakeholders on using the Data Marketplace.
    • Ensure seamless business onboarding.
    • Promote and enrich the Data Marketplace to maximize value. Collaborate with the Data Literacy team on change management activities (communication, training, awareness sessions, and so on).  
  • Coordinate with internal Data Governance and Management teams.
  • Become an expert in Data Marketplace and Data Product development.
  • Execute/support technical activities related to backend development such as automation by using API, integration with other internal systems etc.
  • Liaise with the vendor (Informatica) and Data Management Tool teams to support business needs and share new enhancement requests.
  • Uphold the value proposition in Agile processes.

Required Competence

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience in Data Governance and Management
  • Familiar with Informatica IDMC or similar tools as well as knowledge of Data Catalog
  • Azure Data Architecture/Engineering skills
  • Insights into Data Product development

 

To be successful in this role you should have  an analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, as well as communication and stakeholder management skills, and a problem-solving attitude to be part of and help drive the data transformation. We are working in a DevOps setup so experience from the Agile way of working is beneficial. You should have full proficiency in English.

 

This is a Flexible position, and in this role, you will be joining as a Data Manager for Data Marketplace in Gothenburg (Sweden) or Wroclaw (Poland). Please mention your desired location when you apply.
