‘Data’ is a function within Volvo Digital & IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and used through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with an implementation of the Data Layer in Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.

 

What you will do

 

As the Digital Product Owner for the Data Management Tool (DMT), you will drive the product vision, ensure alignment with strategy, and manage team backlog prioritization and delivery. Your expertise in Data Governance and Management, along with strong communication and analytical skills, will be vital for this role.
To be successful in this role you require knowledge and experience from Data Governance and Data Management. You have an analytical mindset, excellent structuring skills, as well as communication and stakeholder management skills. This in combination with a pragmatic can-do attitude will enable you to be part of and help drive the data transformation.
 
The ‘Data’ function is a large multi-cultural organization with 600+ employees and contractors located mainly in 7 countries - Sweden, Poland, India, Belgium, Brazil, USA, and France. 

This is a Flexible position, and in this role, you will be joining as a Digital Product Owner for Data Management Tool in Gothenburg (Sweden), Bengaluru (India) or Wroclaw (Poland). Please mention the location while you apply.

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Assisting in organizing and prioritizing the product development backlog.
  • Supporting the team in creating product specifications and providing necessary support to aid team delivery.
  • Contributing to, championing the product vision, and ensuring that team development aligns with long and short-term plans.
  • Continuously reviewing the digital product for improvement opportunities.
  • Advising stakeholders on optimal use of the DMT and help maintaining the service catalog. Also collaborate with stakeholders for seamless onboarding.

 

You will coordinate with various internal Data Governance and Management products, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. The role involves managing the technical roadmap and liaising with vendors to align goals and deliverables. Responsibilities include handling the functional aspects of Data governance, providing ongoing technical maintenance and support, and diligently monitoring platform SLAs to maintain high standards of service. 

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, or similar.
  • Documented experience in Data Governance & Management.
  • Hands-on experience with (preferably) Informatica IDMC or (alternatively) Informatica on-prem

 

To excel in this role, you should have prior experience leading an Agile/DevOps team. You possess strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, catering to varying levels of technical expertise. Your solid IT foundation, coupled with robust business acumen, and exceptional organizational skills, will be crucial to your success. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential.
