Expert System Architect - Chassis
Göteborg, SE, 417 15
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
Are you passionate about innovative technologies and future transportation solutions? We’re seeking an Expert System Architect to lead the development and integration of next-generation Heavy Duty automotive solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and making an impact in a rapidly evolving industry.
Who Are We?
The Chassis Team drives the development of the chassis and its systems for the Cab-Over Engine Range. The Chassis Structure and Equipment Section comprises six product ownership teams, with four based in Sweden and two in India. We maintain strong engineering collaborations with teams in France, Brazil, Australia, and the USA. Our team is dedicated to continuous improvement and global strategies, promoting both employee professional growth and innovative, sustainable product development to deliver on our commitments and responsibilities.
What you will do
As an Expert System Architect, you will play a central role in defining system-level architecture and ensuring effective integration between different technical areas. Your work will include specifying system boundaries, interfaces and functional interactions, as well as translating customer and regulatory needs into clear and structured technical requirements.
You will collaborate closely with design engineers, project leaders and other system architects to balance performance, cost, and time-to-market. This includes supporting verification activities, managing technical trade-offs, and contributing to both product and process decisions across development phases.
In addition to the technical aspects, you will also be a coach and contributor to a strong engineering culture – supporting knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team.
Who you are
To succeed in this role, we believe you are a curious and structured engineer who naturally takes a systems perspective. You enjoy collaborating across functions and technical domains, and you’re motivated by solving complex challenges that require both analytical thinking and creativity. You thrive in an environment where you can combine deep technical knowledge with strategic thinking, and you take pride in finding solutions that are robust, cost-efficient, and scalable.
You bring several years of experience from system design and architecture, preferably within the automotive or another highly complex industry. Your background likely includes mechanical engineering and project management, and you feel confident working with system interfaces, functional architecture, and requirement breakdown.
Your experience also includes:
- Extensive experience in product development of Heavy Duty vehicles is required
- Leading or contributing to requirement engineering processes, ensuring alignment between stakeholder needs and technical solutions.
Beyond your technical skills, you are a clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. You value collaboration and openness, and you’re not afraid to take ownership or drive topics forward when needed.
We also see it as a plus if you have experience from development related to electrified systems, vehicle integration, or industrialization – but most importantly, you bring a willingness to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to a strong team culture.
Ready for the next move?
We promise you some truly exciting challenges and the opportunity to join a team of skilled colleagues. We are eager to learn from you and you will get fantastic opportunities to learn and develop with us.
