The Finance Graduate Program

If you are up for the challenge of developing our future Finance function and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!   

 

During 12 intense months, you will get an end-to-end perspective of our Finance functions and how we co-drive the business, both from a local as well as from a Volvo Group perspective. From day one, you will have a permanent role in one of our organizations, where you will play an active role in daily deliveries. In parallel, you will participate in a number of common training weeks with the other Finance graduates throughout the year, do various job rotations to increase your insights of the Volvo Group and last but not least you will grow as a person. Your professional and personal growth will be supported through individual and team development sessions, mentoring, coaching and feedback.  

  

You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business, which will help you get a holistic view and build your future career within the Volvo Group. Besides your manager, who will guide and support you in your daily job, you will have a supportive network of peer graduates, colleagues across the globe and senior leaders to help you excel. The Business Controller team is a vital part of creating business value for the company. We secure that we invest money in the right products and segments and support best utilization of our resources. Through networking, analysis and business insights we provide reliable financial data for decisions.  We are financial business partners and give professional proactive support to our stakeholders. We want to be seen as an engaged and service-minded team, open and adaptive with a high level of integrity. Besides supporting our R&D projects with analysis of both project cost and product cost, we are responsible for monthly closing and financial estimate process for both R&D and Warranty at Volvo Buses. 

How you will make an impact

You will have project controlling within R&D as an initial area of responsibility, acting as a financial business partner to our project leaders, ensuring that we have control over project costs as well as product costs. Aside from being a true partner to the business, you will contribute to enabling the digital transformation journey. You will play a significant role in establishing efficient and trustworthy day-to-day operations while interacting with and providing financial advice and support to management and managers within Global Bus Technology. We place great emphasis on personal growth, granting you the opportunity to explore new areas of responsibility and change roles over time. 

Who are you?

We are looking for next-generation experts and leaders within the Finance field, who want to make a real difference to society. You are passionate about what you do, have a curious mind, and are willing to learn. Just like us, you thrive on teamwork. To excel in this role, we believe it's important for you to have robust data-driven analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel's data modeling capabilities. Additionally, familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools is considered a valuable asset. We do not expect that you are an engineer, but having a technical curiosity will help you to evaluate business cases and challenge and support our engineering team.  

 

Qualifications 

  • Master of Finance or equivalent in Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science.
  • In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) is a merit
  • Maximum two years of fulltime working experience prior to, or after graduation, excluding work during studies
  • A valid study or work permit for the country to which you apply (if not a citizen).
