The Finance Graduate Program

If you are up for the challenge of developing our future Finance function and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!   

 

During 12 intense months, you will get an end-to-end perspective of our Finance functions and how we co-drive the business, both from a local as well as from a Volvo Group perspective. From day one, you will have a permanent role in one of our organizations, where you will play an active role in daily deliveries. In parallel, you will participate in a number of common training weeks with the other Finance graduates throughout the year, do various job rotations to increase your insights of the Volvo Group and last but not least you will grow as a person. Your professional and personal growth will be supported through individual and team development sessions, mentoring, coaching and feedback.  

 

You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business, which will help you get a holistic view and build your future career within the Volvo Group. Besides your manager, who will guide and support you in your daily job, you will have a supportive network of peer graduates, colleagues across the globe and senior leaders to help you excel. Our Organization - Group Finance

Group Accounting & Consolidation is a function within Group Finance. We are responsible for Volvo Group’s consolidated external and internal financial reporting, as well as the governance of the Volvo Group financial consolidation process. We have the overall responsibility to manage policies and principles to support the finance community in financial reporting and accounting within the Volvo Group. This includes ownership of Group accounting policies & instructions, Group financial closing timetables, and structures in financial systems.  In addition, we support the Group Executive Board, Group Management, Volvo Group Board of Directors, as well as other stakeholders in understanding the financial performance of the Group and the financial impact on strategic initiatives. 

Your Future Team

You will be part of a team with extensive contacts throughout the Volvo Group organization. In addition, we work cross-functionally with other Headquarter functions, e.g., Tax Department, Business Control, Legal Department, Investor Relations, and Sustainability.  Group Accounting is divided into three Subject Matter Expert groups and one Project & Process Development Group. Group Accounting also includes IFRS technical experts.  

How You will make an impact

In this role, you will contribute to the continuous development of the Group Accounting & Consolidation function. We always strive to develop and automate our processes and to further increase our role as a key business partner.  

 

Your core responsibilities will include

  • Taking an active role in financial reporting and analysis, including monthly closings and preparing input for external reports.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Group to ensure accurate accounting and proper treatment of business transactions.
  • Contributing to developing and maintaining clear, user-friendly accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Communicating with external auditors and performing ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Participating in cross-functional projects and being part of our ongoing digitalization journey.

Who are you?

Requirements for this role 

  • University Degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar. Preferably within the field of Accounting. 
  • In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. 
  • Meritorious with previous work experience in Accounting and knowledge in IFRS 
  • Maximum 2 years of full-time work experience prior to or after graduation, excluding work during studies.  
  • A valid study or work permit for the country of application (if not a citizen)
