The Finance Graduate Program
If you are up for the challenge of developing our future Finance function and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!
During 12 intense months, you will get an end-to-end perspective of our Finance functions and how we co-drive the business, both from a local as well as from a Volvo Group perspective. From day one, you will have a permanent role in one of our organizations, where you will play an active role in daily deliveries. In parallel, you will participate in a number of common training weeks with the other Finance graduates throughout the year, do various job rotations to increase your insights of the Volvo Group and last but not least you will grow as a person. Your professional and personal growth will be supported through individual and team development sessions, mentoring, coaching and feedback.
You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business, which will help you get a holistic view and build your future career within the Volvo Group. Besides your manager, who will guide and support you in your daily job, you will have a supportive network of peer graduates, colleagues across the globe and senior leaders to help you excel. Our Organization - Group Truck Purchasing
Volvo Group Purchasing has over 200 BSEK in Purchasing annual spend and over 2,500 suppliers in serial production. For the truck business alone, 2 billion truck parts were delivered to 40 plants around the world. By scouting and working with high performing suppliers, we deliver the best possible products and service that bring value to our customers.
Your Future Team
The Supplier Financial Risk & Restructuring Team is a global function which pro-actively identifies and manages financial risks in Volvo’s supplier portfolio and handles insolvency and restructuring cases when they arise. As a Supplier Financial Analyst, will conduct financial evaluations, monitor risky suppliers, be involved in financial crisis handling, and develop and implement risk mitigation and response actions in crises. You will be part of a global team of analysts and restructuring lawyers spread around Brazil, US, Sweden, France, Germany, India and China, and will collaborate with purchasing management and buyers throughout all purchasing phases.
How you will make an impact
In our team, you will play an important role in securing a stable and resilient supply base by assessing suppliers’ financial health, managing risks, and driving proactive measures together with buyers and other key stakeholders.
Your main activities and responsibilities
- Evaluate the financial health of suppliers and identify risks in all purchasing phases.
- Work proactively with early warning signals in close cooperation with buyers, to identify and mitigate potential risks for production disturbances due to suppliers’ financial distress
- Monitor risky or distressed suppliers and develop and implement mitigation measures. Work closely with sourcing and legal teams to incorporate financial risk mitigation measures into contractual agreements with suppliers
- Build relationships with financially risky and distressed suppliers to ensure open communication and collaboration on risks and solutions. This includes occasionally travelling to visit suppliers face to face.
- Interface with buyers and suppliers in collecting and validating financial data from suppliers. Ensure Volvo receives timely information and updates in its Financial Scorecard systems, with support from the Purchasing Support Centre in Bangalore/India
- Participate in and drive projects within the team, including initiatives around continuous improvement and knowledge management
Who are you?
You are a curious and analytical team player with a strong interest in finance and risk management. You combine integrity and collaboration with a global mindset and a desire to grow within an international environment. Qualifications for this role also include
- BSc in degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field
- In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English
- Excellent analytical skills. Curiosity to go beyond the numbers to assess overall risks combining financial data to market intelligence, Volvo business risks, legal and ownership risks, etc.
- Team player – excellent in building relationships within an organization, share information, and work to achieve common goals
- Experience in finance, insurance or consulting (e.g. internships or part time work) is a plus!
- Maximum two years full-time working experience prior to, or after graduation
- A valid study or work permit for Sweden, if not a citizen
