The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is seeking a Fleet Director to help shape the future of sustainable mobility within the Volvo Financial Services Global HQ
What you will do
As Fleet Director, you will be at the forefront of electrification revolution and take on a pivotal role in a rapidly growing business area with significant opportunities for personal and professional development.
The Fleet Director is responsible for overseeing all commercial vehicles, driver behavior and related assets and ensure that vehicles and drivers are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner. The role includes overseeing service delivery, fleet update, productivity, uptime and to deliver customer satisfaction over time and maintenance.
The Fleet Director will have strategic oversight of the VFS EaaS Fleet and is accountable for exceeding customer expectations while deliver sustainable business results. This role will require a leader who can Think Bold, continuously challenge the status quo, and be an inspirational change agent for the organization. To drive consistency in our operations, The Fleet Director will engage teams to identify and implement LEAN best practices across the network. The Fleet Director will also play a key role in building a robust talent pool through active development of team members and other leaders in the organization.
Position Responsibilities
- Drive and develop the business, ensuring growth and success through strategic leadership and innovation
- Lead through RCI (Rapid Continuous Improvement) methods – Implement and utilize visual management, A3 processes, and lean logistics concepts.
- Manage all financial aspects of the operation, capital planning, and administration.
- Analyze mid/long-range forecasts vs. capacities to identify and prevent service disruptions, customer impacts, and inefficiencies.
- Create and implement improvement plans for the overall operation, including operations, asset management, and management systems.
- Develop High Performance Teams through team-based problem solving across areas such as sales operations, asset management, etc.
- Promote a collaborative work environment through open communication and influencing partners to make decisions that benefit the entire organization.
- Continuously challenge the status quo and serve as an inspirational change agent for the organization.
Competency Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry.
- Data-driven and KPI-oriented decision-making.
- Experience with transportation networks, costs, fleet operations, and asset management.
- Strong analytical skills to support operational improvements and cost efficiency.
- Financial acumen, including P&L ownership, ROE, ROA and ROIC.
- Experience in leading and developing High Performance Teams.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead through collaboration and engagement.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
