Join our dynamic team within the ‘Suspension Control System’ group, part of the Vehicle Dynamics substream in the ‘Vehicle Motion and Thermal Management’ technology stream. We are responsible for developing suspension control systems for all truck brands within the Volvo Group, as well as for Volvo Bus. We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to enhance our Suspension Control software development area.

 

As a member of our highly skilled agile team, you will have full product ownership of the suspension control system, overseeing everything from requirements and specifications to end customer delivery and quality follow-up. Our team collaborates closely with cross-functional counterparts in a global environment, ensuring that we meet the diverse needs of our stakeholders.

What you will do

As Function Owner and Function Developer within Vehicle Dynamics, you will be involved in all phases of development and maintenance of our complex end-user functions related to suspension control. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Specifying and reviewing function and software requirements.
  • Developing new functions and customer features.
  • Supporting internal customers, the aftermarket and production while engaging with end customers.
  • Conducting tests in vehicles as well as in virtual and real environments.
  • Contributing to the development of the global roadmap for future functions and features.
  • Fault tracing in vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
  • You will play a crucial role in an agile team, contributing to both short-term deliveries and long-term strategies.

 

Key Activities:

  • Requirement specification and logic design breakdown.
  • Implementation of new features and software updates using C programming language.
  • Tuning functionality, troubleshooting, and hands-on testing of features and functionality in trucks.
  • Supporting functional safety and cybersecurity initiatives.

Who Are You?

  • You are creative with a strong desire to learn and improve.
  • As part of an agile team, you are a team player who enjoys collaboration but can also work independently and drive development on your own.
  • You possess a good understanding of system development for embedded real-time systems.
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills, both in writing and verbally.
  • You have a sense of responsibility and are business and customer-oriented.
  • A genuine interest in the automotive industry is likely part of your profile.


Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, and Software Development.
  • Familiarity with tools such as CANalyzer, Matlab (Simulink), as well as rapid prototyping and systems development principles.
  • Experience with tools like GIT, Vector DaVinci, CANoe & CANalyzer, and SystemWeaver (SE-TOOL) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Volvo tools, functional safety, cybersecurity, C, C++, and a valid driver's license (C) is advantageous.
