What you will do
Your responsibility is to secure that workshops in Volvo bus retail markets have the required trainings they need to secure product knowledge for workshop technicians.
Your main stakeholders will be market trainers, for who you will develop training material and train how to run these trainings for workshop technicians. The engineering network and project teams, from whom you will get information about new products and technical solutions. With these inputs you shall identify what trainings needs to be developed for future, plan accordingly, develop trainings, and train.
You are expected to develop trainings in most efficient way to secure knowledge transfer to technicians, i.e., using correct media, for example, traditional classroom knowledge transfer, exercises, test, training videos, e-learnings, VR, AR, balance between ‘interactive exercises’ and ‘listening’ etc.
The position reports to Manager, Global service Training.
Main activities and responsibilities:
1. Develop trainings: Develop trainings in accordance with projects and market needs
2. Train the Trainer: Train market trainers on how to conduct the training and teach the workshop technicians.
Your future team
We at Global Service Training in Service Market Technology, Global Bus Technology; deliver world-class knowledge and information management solutions to our service markets. We together own 2 products, i.e., Retail competence and Driver handbook.
We work in close cooperation with market colleagues, engineering team within buses and rest of Volvo group.
We develop trainings for retail workshop technicians and educate market trainers so they efficiently can prepare our customers and dealers with right knowledge and competence to repair and service Volvo buses. You will join a team of globally based colleagues in Mexico, Sweden, and Poland
From an uptime and customer satisfaction perspective, knowledge management is of utmost importance to customer and VBC. Global Service Training is responsible to develop this.

You understand importance of building and sharing knowledge from end user perspective.
You have good technical and product knowledge of heavy vehicles.
You like to work in a team cross functionally and want to contribute to developing and delivering world class knowledge management solutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
- Degree in engineering (mechatronics, mechanical, electrical) or equivalent
- Automotive technical knowledge, products, electrics, electronics, and electromobility
- Excellent presentation, training, communication and pedagogical skills
- Should be able to train/teach (learning from a technician perspective)
- Should be able to learn himself/herself in order to teach with a good grasp of technical subjects
- Should be able to co-develop training materials
- Fluent in written and spoken English (as all trainings will be in English)
- Strong customer focus
- Bus Driving license (category D) and 1000V electricity license are an advantage.
