CAST, within Vehicle Engineering, is a global function that drives the Volvo Group's principles for Common Architecture & Share Technology. With around 200 engaged engineers, we foster a collaborative environment aimed at enhancing customer performance. The Platform Analytics team within CAST operates under Group Trucks Technology, focusing on collecting and analyzing global application data. We support product development by creating tools and providing training, ensuring close collaboration with our stakeholders.
What You Will Do:
As the Manager of Platform Analytics, you will lead a team of skilled data scientists, guiding them to generate insights for product evolution and drive digital transformation. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading a team of 10 data scientists to advance product understanding and develop superior products through data-driven insights.
• Defining and enhancing the vision for analytics within the organization, generating pivotal insights that inform optimal product evolution and strategic decision-making.
• Implementing strategic changes to drive digital transformation, ensuring alignment with Volvo GTT's requirements and objectives.
In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our analytics initiatives align with and support broader business goals. You will also focus on building and nurturing external networks and partnerships, which will be essential for modernizing our analytics tools and methodologies, thereby enhancing the team's overall capabilities. Additionally, you will support the development of training programs designed to empower stakeholders in effectively utilizing these analytics tools. By fostering a culture of innovation within the team, you will inspire members to explore new technologies and methodologies in analytics, driving continuous improvement and creativity in our approach.
Are We a Perfect Match?
We are looking for candidates who possess an MSc in Engineering or a relevant field, along with 5-10 years of experience in product development, simulation, or data analytics, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering results. Proficiency in technical domains such as Python, SQL, Power BI, or QlikView is essential, as is a strong understanding of analytics and statistics.
Ideal candidates will have experience in establishing new teams and developing competencies, with a focus on collaboration and shared objectives. Excellent communication and presentation skills are crucial, as you will need to influence and inspire others effectively and previous management experiments are seen as a merit. A passion for technology and people, combined with strong leadership abilities, will enable you to motivate high-performing teams and drive success.
