About us:
The R&D resources for the three truck brands (Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, and Mack Trucks) as well as for other Volvo Group business units (Volvo Bus, Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Energy) are centralized into Volvo Group Trucks Technology. Volvo Group Trucks Technology provides state-of-the-art research, cutting-edge engineering, and product planning, as well as aftermarket product support.
The Volvo Group Electromobility organization is responsible for the complete development of the lifecycle of our electric powertrains – from advanced engineering through product development into the maintenance phase. The Complete System department is responsible for the complete Electromobility system development and verification. By joining us, you’ll be part of a global and diverse team of highly skilled professionals. We make our customers; the planet and our future generations win.
Together, we will continue to grow and build state-of-the-art technology. You will be part of the Complete Electric Propulsion System and Platform section management team and report directly to the Director Complete Product Documentation and release.

This is how you can make a difference:
As Group Manager, you will lead and further develop our software integration and release — to streamline complex software and system development, ensuring end-to-end integration, and optimize release management at scale. You will be responsible for aligning multidisciplinary teams around a unified integration and release strategy. This includes understanding the full software and system development lifecycle — from early architectural planning through validation and deployment — and ensuring that every software and components are developed with coordination and traceability in mind.

Your effective stakeholder management is essential, ensuring clear communication, expectation alignment, and timely decision-making across all levels of the organization. This role requires not only technical depth in software integration and system thinking but also a strong command of project delivery dynamics. Whether managing the rollout of a new system platform or coordinating multi-team handoffs during a major product launch, you operate as a critical connector — translating program needs into executable release plans and delivering them together with the team with precision and speed. By embedding a software factory mindset into every layer of development, you will help transform how Volvo Group Electromobility builds, integrates, and delivers the software/ system that supports our mission. Furthermore, you need to be a strategic communicator with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is vital. Whether presenting integration plans to executives or facilitating alignment between development teams, communication is central to influence and impact. Building trust and fostering cooperation across diverse teams — from embedded software engineers to manufacturing leads — is crucial. You must be a unifier who brings stakeholders together around shared goals and timelines. Working in a rapidly evolving environment requires the ability to adjust quickly, absorb ambiguity, and guide teams through change.

Your leadership expertise will play a pivotal role in driving the cultural shift essential for fostering innovation and transformation. With a passion for leading change, coupled with a customer-centric mindset, you have a track record of transforming good teams into exceptional ones. We believe you have a can-do attitude and a results-oriented mindset, enabling you to tackle challenging assignments successfully.

What to bring:
•    Multiple years of experience of driving integration and release management activities in embedded software/ system environments.
•    End-to-end project development, processes and delivery skillsets
•    Min. 3 years of managing people’s experience- leading organizations with complex tasks and coaching empowered teams.
•    Software and system integration across embedded Software/ systems and platforms.

  • Release management using tools, testing and platforms
  • Electric driveline experience is meritorious
  • Software factory experience is meritorious.
  • Engineering education, preferably a MSc.
