At Volvo GTT, we are unifying our Base Platform teams to revolutionize Software Platform, Hardware ECU, and Software and Simulation Factory development. Our mission is to streamline embedded software platforms, software- and simulation tools, and hardware ECU development to provide the best automotive Embedded Platform enabling the Volvo Group and our partners, to be number one!

The Software & Simulation Factory in Vehicle Technology has worldwide responsibility for the toolchain and simulation platform used to develop in-house a large set of applications, ranging from vehicle control, combustion engine, transmissions to full electric vehicle management. We serve all brands, joint ventures, and partners of the Volvo Group with our solutions. We provide both real-time and High Performing Computer software platforms and will manage Volvo Group’s interface to Coretura in our scope.
We are proud product owners, accountable for the life cycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase.
What you will do
You will be managing a group of skilled software engineers who are part of cross-functional teams in our agile trains. Our trains embed both software and hardware ECUs' development activities. As the Group Manager for the Tools & Automation Infrastructure team, you have responsibility for the Continuous Integration environment and our Software Development Toolchain focusing on our Vehicle Technology software developers.
You will be part of forming a new management team that manages the ecosystem of software development tools, CI/CD environments and development structure of our Simulation platform for all GTT stakeholders, developers, simulation engineers, and verification engineers.
You will have the responsibility for the Vehicle Technology software development kit and Continuous Integration flow of the Software Factory, and to manage these stakeholders and developing teams, while we are converging toward one highly efficient and reliable Software Factory in the future. Your team is developing different build and integration pipelines over their complete life cycle, developing those through teams in an agile environment. Your part is to lead this growth journey and to take this wider responsibility within the company.

Being in charge of developing methods together with your manager colleagues, and teams to secure strong built-in quality in our deliveries. Efficiency, uptime, and reliability will be your focus to improve the software development, our methods, and simulation operations for the entire GTT Portfolio R&D efficiency.

In addition, we believe that you have:

A University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent education.

Solid experience in building and leading high-performing teams.

Strong background in leading embedded software development.

Proven experience working as a Product Owner within the software domain.

Ability to manage change programs and drive efficiency across an organization.

Experience managing software tool suppliers and external partners.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
It is considered as a plus if you have:

Experience in CI/CD operations within software development.

Knowledge of the automotive industry and its development processes.
